A Hotel Photography for Swallow Churchgate Hotel in Harlow. Location Hotel Photo shoots are always interesting subjects for a Photographer, so my enthusiasm doing this Hotel Photography was unrivalled. When I shoot Architectural pictures I’d like to give the best that I can and I never have in mind how long is going to take. I follow always two basic rules for Hotel Photography: the attitude of shooting and the right time for the daylight. For exterior shootings, if the sky is cloudy its much easier because there is not any strong highlights and shadows, but the photos looses the original blue sky (thanks to Photoshop I can put it later if I have to). Otherwise if it’s a sunny day the light can give a gorgeous or an awful result. I have to choose the right daytime, so maybe I have to spend many hours. A night Photo-shoot it’s the most difficult but interesting part in Hotel Photography as well. Shooting large glass surfaces for example, my experience teach me that a good choice is the 20 “gold minutes” before the night comes. I also have to edit those files, compose panoramic photos, adjust tones and colours and finally and [...]

The post Hotel Photography in Harlow appeared first on Nek.

This medical Photo session, was one of the most interesting subjects I’ve ever had. Dr. Apostolides is a general surgeon doctor. At the last years he specialises in Bariatric surgery. He is the founder of “Bariatric-Surgery” and a well known doctor. It is not a frequent subject, so I was impressed when he called me. My theme was to capture a Medical Photo session for the website of the firm. The main part of this photography session was done at the clinic hospital and some of the portraits at his private practiice. I have tried to create pictures who are looking friendly and showing confidence in him. “Bariatric Surgery” Medical Photo session

The post Medical Photo session for “Bariatric Surgery” appeared first on Nek.

I was quite excited when Aspa phoned to book the shoot for the Christening of her little daughter Christina’s Greek Orthodox Baptism. Greek Orthodox Christenings are beautiful ceremonies with no shortage of captivating objects to be photographed. This makes such an event a challenge for a Photographer attempting to capture outstanding pictures that will be cherished for generations to come. Every time I have the opportunity to photograph a Greek Christening/Baptism, I begin with the family photos and prized portraits of baby and family. These have to be done before the ceremony gets underway. Post ceremony usually means the baby is tired and cranky with oily hair and wanting to rest which gives me little time for the quantity of shots that I’d like to have. I especially love capturing emotional Christening photos of baby with mother as well as godparents. Guest’s faces tend to bring out the best expressions at the moment the baby is bathed in the blessed water when I always have my finger ready on the trigger. Other subjects for great pictures are the close ups of decorations, baby portraits using the light from the candles, the incense burning and all the filigree details in the church. Here is a collection [...]

The post Christine’s Orthodox Christening Photography appeared first on Nek.

Here is a greek wedding’s location photography of Nikos & Fani; a couple who did their marriage in the city of Athens. Nikos is catholic while Fani is orthodox, so their greek wedding had two ceremonies. One at the Roman Catholic Church in Psychiko and one at the nearby Orthodox church in Neo Psychiko. After the family and group photos we went to the Olympic stadium for capturing some portrait photography. Then we ended up in Pallini to their simple and elegant reception. It was my pleasure to photograph the greek wedding for this gently and lovely couple. A Greek Wedding in Athens

The post A greek wedding in Athens appeared first on Nek.

It was a great experience doing the Food Photography. All these plates was high-end creations of contemporary mediterranean couisine. Cooked with extra care and attention by the chefs. This Food Photography project includes more than 1500 creative receips and equivalent plates. I enjoyed these eight months by shooting, editing and archiving thousands of pictures. 45 cook books was published in three languages by Maliaris-Peadia Publications. I have to tell Leonardo Garcia and Giannis Margaris may they are talented Chefs but they never cooked a plate for shooting that photographer can taste! Everything was almost uncooked and raw to protect the food sight and color for Food Photography. Except from a cake at the end… Food Photography for Cook books series. © 2010-2013 Maliaris-Peadia Publications.
